EXPO 2020 – Luxembourg Pavilion

The steel design of this pavilion, though, not entirely visible to the public eye, is an art form itself. The complexity of manufacturing and aligning thousands of individual pieces that need to align perfectly with one another in order to form that wave pattern you see on the Luxembourg Pavilion at Expo 2020.

After the assembly of the skeletal structure, support secondary structures form a shadow around the primary to give way to a stretch Teflon or ETFE fabric.

The project involved RAQ’s expertise in steel fabrication and erection. The project called for a supply of 550 metric tons of steel with connections. The steel was delivered partly in hot roll and the rest was a pre-engineered building.
