Amazon build to suit (BTS), Fulfilment Centre for phase one is located in Industrial City of Abu Dhabi (ICAD) which is a free zone dedicated to industrial processes. Spanning across 40 sq. km. ICAD is part of Musaffah, a popular industrial district located in the southwest of Abu Dhabi. The master development is one of the most important economic zones in the UAE housing several factories and a port.
Once soil has been improved and the plot leveled by another contractor, RAQ will begin the execution project for the Amazon fulfillment center. Client targeted time duration for the completion of “Build to Suit (BTS), Fulfilment Centre (FC) Phase 1 – “AUH1” project will be in 14 months (420 days).
The project has been directly commissioned by Amazon USA and is run with their standards.
As always, we plan our project in phases and divide areas in zones for easy deployment of resources.
Erection of steel starts of in Zone 2. We start the erection from the left; this is the absolution center of the entire building.
The distinguishing feature of this project lies in the client’s requirement for a warehouse that could accommodate multiple tenants, with the flexibility for individual clients to rent one or two units as needed. In response to a specific client’s request for two units, a system of removable panels was devised to facilitate the expansion of existing units into a larger, unified space.
The project additionally includes the implementation of intelligent gates, which are equipped with license plate recognition technology and will automatically grant access to authorized facility members. These intelligent gates will revolutionize the access control system of the facility. With the integration of license plate recognition technology, authorized members will no longer need to present physical access cards or undergo manual verification processes.
While the warehouse is purpose-built the reception areas and the lounge are made in a way to appeal to the tenants and visitors to the facility
The initial warehouses, which were granted approximately a combined built-up area of 45,000 m², ultimately resulted in a total built-up area of nearly 70,000 m². This comprehensive project spanned a duration of 14 months and falls under the umbrella of Etjar Investments, although the parent company responsible is Al Ghurair. It is noteworthy that a significant portion of the property was specifically constructed for occupancy by Masafi Water.
